Several years ago it was possible only to ski here but now you can enjoy a relaxing holiday all year around. In winter you can rent ski and other winter equipment, and when springtime arrives and the snow melts our guests can take advantage of renting both push bikes and mountain bikes. Easily navigable specially designed bicycle routes that cover the whole Saukkovaara area await an action packed day.

Autumn brings a whole new flavour, you can find an abundance of berries and mushrooms in the forest and even though their export is forbidden in Finland, it is our pleasure to offer the expertise of our Chefs in creating delicious jams or sumptuous mushrooms dishes from your hand picked choices.

You will find a very calming and relaxing atmosphere in Saukkovaara where we respect the nature and the silence of the forest. During those cold winter mornings you can hear the rustle of falling snowflakes and in the cool summer evenings, you will be mesmerised by the calming sound of the fish playing in the lake. The only thing that breaks the natural silence is the hurried short steps of a squirrel or the curious nature of a rabbit peering into your cottage through the window.
